dolcepunta

What do people think of dolcepunta ties?  I just ordered one (woven navy with pink and white circles, seven fold) because there is a store here in Phoenix where you can choose whatever silk you want from them and order it in whatever lenth and width you want.

Re: dolcepunta

well, I do not think it is normal that you can order them.  I have never been in an actual dolcepunta store.  Dolcepunta makes the ties for bijan, battaglia et al.  They do huge mark ups of course but there is a made to measure place here in phoenix that I have used for ravazollo sport coats.  The guy who runs the store is good friends with the guy who started dolcepunta so this is a service that dolcepunta lets him provide since they are friends.  He has every silk that dolcepunta makes so you can choose whatever silk you want (huge numbers of silks ) in whatever length, width, fold number and dolcepunta makes the tie and sends it over.  The Dolcepunta guy ran Brinoi's tie department for 25 years and then struck out on his own a few years ago.

Re: dolcepunta

I was very impressed with the silks.  The quality was as good as I have ever seen with the slip stitches and such.  Dolcepunta has three different fold choices, standard, true seven and 11 fold.
