Discotradin

I wish to establish the, 1st Disco Trad , publication .

If you waxed your, Weejuns in , 1970 please share for me, your experiences.

Disco like Trad, is too classic to, go out from, style. So why should they, not be celebrated, togeather ?

Vaclav,
Discotradin Editor

Re: Discotradin

I have some friends who are Homosexuals.

I do not judge them.

They discovered The Ivy shop in '70 and stayed with the look.

They started to visit New York around '72 for shopping & clubbing.

They were/are sociable chaps who loved /love to dance in between whatever else.

The Gay "All-American Boy" look may be your way into this world, my Brother.

I will ask them for the names of the NYC Homosexual clubs which they visited wearing what you now call 'Trap' back in the day.

You may well be on to something here.

And now -

Re: Discotradin

Stone me.

Sat here with me coffee watching that Sylvester clip and part of it was shot on the main floor of 'Heaven' (Their old logo pops up at the end), the London Gay club where I first met proper Ivy League style back in '85.

So I can tell you for a fact that Ivy style was worn in this disco at least and was a part of the scene. Nothing special.

Small world, but a wonderful one...

... I once held his door open for Richard Coles at the BBC...

(That isn't a slang term, btw)

R.

(Edit: Coles is the keyboard player who looks like Manton.)

Re: Discotradin

For us, this, is DiscoTradin:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jwidh-uCiQ&feature=related

Our way is always Up.

"We been broken down
the lowest turn
and been on the bottom line
sure ain't no fun
but if we should be evicted from our homes
we'll just move somewere else
and still carry on
Hold on, Hold on, Hold on

Chorus
The only way is up, baby
For you and me, baby
The only way is up
For you and me"

This I sing to Vaclav when we meet. Sometimes he looks, away from my, shame.
