To be fair, many of the sources of info we have found and posted here, were probably not available in 2004. The early Andylanders do not seem to have been very net-saavy, so that was a barrier to finding info.
^ Yeah, that's straight enough I think.
But enough, yeah?
Time to build bridges. I like so many of the chaps over there -
Yo Alden!
My man Tucker!
Let's do what we do. Rockin' the BD & shit.
We're cool. Always were.
J-Boy.
I think perhaps the Trad Forum should be shut down for a while, and let it's poster go blog or whatever on their own. Some time to reflect and some personal thinking would help them to get focused on what works for themselves, free from peer pressure or other undue influences.
Just go out and do your own thing for a while.
Fuck everyone else.
Do what works for you, and learn from it.
^ You a London boy, Tone?
Good advice whatever.
Damn this thread is getting read - Check da hits!
I was suspicious of "Harris" when he spoke of a "1950's Mustang" (or something like that) in a longful way.
harris anton and newphew and myself can all take thanks-yous here too.

Oh gosh. i really should get a new computer so I can actually read AAAC, which I haven't done in over a year, maybe more. I have said this before: I knew harris when he was Skip or Skippy on a long gone web site. He was a bright kid from Virginia who certainly knew a fair amount about clothes. he had decent manners. I think he left maybe banking to go to the Divinity School at Princeton. I think he ended up as a non minister in the NYC environs. In my book he was OK. He had lost his father fairly recently when I knew him, and I have no doubt that was a significant issue.
It's been a while. He may have had some fantasies (not unusual on the internet), but he created a body of work on the internet.
This is what I know. i know nothing about the last year or two.

OK - 405 hits already.
Can I say that most people who care about this subject now actually know about it too?
I'm looking to slack off here.
I'm only flesh & blood...
I'd like to think that my work was done.

It was one of the most interesting viral marketing campaigns I've ever witnessed. Maybe not in numbers like other products, but in sheer rhetorical skill.
There were lapses here and there, as you rightly point out. On the other hand, no one could draw out certain interesting socio-cultural paradoxes like our friend. He was our O'Hara.
Okay. I cant keep up. Was/is Harris someone on this board? A troll? I know we have guessed this, but no one really knew for sure. Did I miss something? Call me simple...
Here's to Trip & EVERYBODY!
And don't forget 'Spooter' too...
I actually rate O'Hara far higher than "Harris", but that's just me.
Harris would have been far, far less without our promotion. As raw material he was actually very poor. We always viewed him as a bit of a test. People saw in him what they wanted to see. Some saw more than others. And that only told you all about them, not him.
The key thing with all of this is that I don't actually want any pats on the back. I only want to talk about what I love with like-minded people. To do that I needed to make it happen. And I still haven't really done that yet either...
"Harris" remains an interesting test. He was no O'Hara. He was equally no Fitzgerald (as some said after his 'Curriculum' post).
People read into him what they wanted to read.
Me? - I thought he was a nebbish.
Still do.
Best -
Jim
