Re: Help with this cloth...

Formby,

I have to run out for a bit and will give you more considerations later but for a start, consider the acorn Zephyr, Summer Pinpoint oxford, cambridge, linen, windsor and Imperial ranges for mating textures and fineness. I particularly like some of the colors in zephyr like the acqua in solid, striped and checked. For collars I would stay with a relatively forward spread (even done softly without stays) and or a button down which may or may not go over, over there. Two button barrel cuffs.

For ties, you need to let us know if you have any strong preferences for fabric types or knot types.

Re: Help with this cloth...

Just had a think about the ties. I always tie a four in hand knot as I don't like the Windsor derivatives at all. Regarding textures I tend mostly towards woven silks, never had linen/wool etc. don't particularly like prints much but would never count anything out. Patterns, anything from stripes, geometrics, solids, neats etc. but defiantly not novelty patterns. As for colours, that's a bit more difficult, I'd like the colours to reflect the seasons I'll be wearing this coat in, that is, Spring and Summer I also have a fair complexion, think Celtic..
