Poor bastard, personally I cannot think of anything more frightening than being stuck in an elevator for any length of time, never mind 40 odd hours. Personally I try to avoid elevators at all costs...good job I don't live and work in NYC...

Poor bastards.
l was stuck in an elevator for a couple of hours all alone. lt was scarey. l deserved it because l fooled around with all the buttons (l always used to press the halt button for kicks and have the elevator jump all over the place).

I can't help but think a pocket square would have made this situation all the more bearable if not appropriate.
