Upon browsing the PreppyJournal online (I was bored, okay?), they refer to a brand called Jack Wills. Further research yielded a website for the company:

Seems to be a British version of Abercrombie and Fitch or American Eagle. For those locals, what is your impression of this company?

More clothing that appears to be worn inside out to expose as many manufacturers credits and logos as possible to general public.
I have been into the Covent Garden shop and I was not suprised, when I saw more of the same casual dross, a la RL, TH at their offshore worst. 1% inspiration 99% manipulation. Stack em high, sell em higher.
AF (should be FA), probably a quality manufacturer pre 80's, but now another design (lower case d intended) selling the Americam lifestyle, via manufacturing everywhere else but..
I can understand a subtle logo, just about, but oversized designers names and oversized logos IMHO have no place in quality menswear, be it Ivy League or one of it's numerous derivatives. Perphaps it should be marketed as, "Ivy League 0%".
Non of these organisations hold a gun to your head to buy their products, and if they every do, remember it's never ever going to be loaded.

Is it yet again all about people wanting to be a part of something? Not sure.
Wanting to be a Jack Wills or whoever sort of person?
Do you need to, show some University ID upon, for purchase ?
The brand is very Chavvy now. I've written about this before.
Once the Royals shopped there the Chavs followed.
'Aspiration', doncha know.
