Agreed they are horrible boots.

Not sure how you chalk them up to the i gents though.

Never seen anybody on AAAT 'What footwear are you wearing today' in similar. Cordovan wingtips are their staple, which I like. Though repetition may be tiresome for some.

Admittedly, the button boots saga was interesting; but there was all sorts going on there and I was never sure just who was pulling whose leg.

The RAF in the late war issued boots to pilots like those, if they were forced down over enemy territory they could cut away the high tops and voila! you've got shoes to blend in with the locals.
