"Guest Russells" ...

Unless FNB & Jeeves stop me I will open a "Guest Russell" account and give out the password so you all can be "Russell" whenever you feel the need.
This is only to meet the demand from this mornings' PMs.

To be "Russell" just PM me & I'll give you the password for an agreed period of time. After that I will change the password.

You will get to vent under Russell's Tweedy cloak of anonymity and any good debates you spark we will run with.

I'll keep 'Russell_Street' for myself, but you can be a 'Guest Russell' or a even an 'Extra Special Guest Star Russell' if you fancy, depending on how good your schtick is.

Why not?

This I think is an MB first.

Jim

Kinda.

Madness. There are enough sock puppets floating around here already, in fact I have five...can you guess who they are?

Re: "Guest Russells" ...

I'd like to revisit this post -

http://www.filmnoirbuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3136&p=3  (69)

"This caught my attention:

http://thetrad.blogspot.com/2008/06/ralph-lauren-marine-corps.html

And this:

http://thetrad.blogspot.com/2008/05/ralph-lauren-and-us-army.html

Is it fair to say that for Ralph this stuff is all pretty much of a muchness? (Do you have that expression in America?)

A Regimental tie, a unit's badge... Why not a pair of boxers with the Presidential seal on the back too?

Somewhere there is a line between the iconic images we can play with and those which are in poor taste or even offensive.

Any thoughts?"

I'm AAAT loyal and trad to the bone, to coin an expression, so I was surprised to see Russell's support for this issue on Tintin's blog. Surprised and pleased. Tucker's blog had a thread not too long ago about the emblematic whale motif tie with people talking about being entitled to wear one, yet nobody is talking about being entitled to wear the military insignia which Ralph Lauren is now using. There is something very wrong here.

Steadfast.
