There is still hope for our young.

l couldn't believe it. l was walking into the service station to pay for my petrol. As l was walking in, l heard two young guys talking about my clothing. These guys were only 13 - 14, yet they mentioned that my coat was "Classy" and "totally cool". l also heard a mention of "shoos" in the converstaion. l couldn't believe it. These guys were in tracksuit pants, baseball caps, and sneakers...yet they commented really favourably about my clothing/shoos. These guys meant it too...the tone in their voices said it all.

l'm totally chuffed...you just never know. Maybe these guys looked at me as a style icon. Maybe they will remember me 20 years on and try to emulate my style. Very few people in my town dress nice. Maybe afew of these kids will see me and inspire to dress like me. When l was a kid in the early 70-'s...l was inspired by the old timers in their 3 piece tweed suits and 50 year old welted crocadile brogues.

See, the young guys still have the ability to recognise class. These guys were only 13 to 14 years of age.

Dear Most Distinguished Antepodian Sir,

One is most happy to hear of  this uplifting interaction with young people. It demonstrates that there is still a glimmer of civilisation left in the young hooligans of today - much like the Ghouls in Living Dead films have some vague memories of their former lives - however, as in the latter case, I fear that this is to some extent a false hope. I remain, Sir,

Your Most Obedient and Humble Servant,

Theodore Ebeneezer Alphonsus St Bonar, Esquire.
