- London Style- In Yer Face-

"I've got a grapefruit manner
It's as sour as shit
I have no solutions
Better get used to it
I don't need a ship to sail in stormy weather
I don't need you to ruffle the feathers - on my Peacock Suit
I'm Narcissus in a puddle
In shop windows I gloat
Like a ball of fleece lining
In my camel skin coat

I don't need a ship to sail in stormy weather
I don't need you to ruffle the feathers - on my Peacock Suit
Did you think I should?

Nemesis in a muddle
In a mirror I look
Like a streak of sheet lightnin'
In my rattlesnake shoes -

I don't need a ship to sail in stormy weather
I don't need you to ruffle the feathers - of my Peacock Suit
Did you think I should?"

Me and Pad are off down The Cock & Trumpet now for the lunchtime session.
Heaven 'elp you when we get back.

Not arf.

And I like to say how nice FNB is. More cats than a cattery. And thats's a lot of cats.

Pad.

Jim again (Pad's gone home) -

... I like the idea of a 'Peacock suit'. What's yours?

I'm going with a (modified) MTM as-Ivy-as-a-'Trad'-English-tailor-can-get, John Hardy, medium weight, medium Grey, medium Herringbone Tweed with muted Blue windowpane overcheck Sack suit I had made up by Hine when they were still in Oxford (They're in Wantage now). It's the Tweed suit I've worn most as it covers Town & Country so well & it's my wife's favourite too.
3/2, swelled edge to the lapels... you know how it goes.

What's your most 'Peacock' item?

j.
