Brooks Brothers OCBD Shirts Made In America Again

A chance perusal of Brooks Brothers website revealed that their OCBD shirts are made in America, which caught me by surprise.  When did they revert back to US manufacture and is the quality what it once had been?

They have always made the Oxford cloth all cotton (must iron) shirts in the USA, although they outsourced everything else. I was more surprised to see that now they are also making some of the more upscale shirts (on sale now for 1/2 price) in the US of A. (fabric imported from Italy).

Re: Brooks Brothers OCBD Shirts Made In America Again

Believe me, I checked every year. I think the shirt factory is in NC. Oddly, they shipped the classic broadcloth shirts overseas and still do. The Golden Fleece and the 150 dollar luxury label shirts are now made here in America. I don't think they did that last year, But now they do.
The ties are still made in the USA from made in England silk and some made in Italy silk. I guess it is still proprietary.
We remember the leather factory and the suit factory, but to date "Our Own Make" is a distant memory.

The no iron and the slim or non classic fit shirts seemed to all come from Malaysia. The must iron OCBD for some weird reason was made in America through all the bad years, and now during some of the decent years. I haven't bought one in a decade, but I am out of that classic pink shade. My guess is they are OK.

Re: Brooks Brothers OCBD Shirts Made In America Again

Funny story: I walked into the West Hartford Brooks store this week, to stock up on their classic underwear. I go to the check out counter and the sales man says to me: "You have some nerve coming in here wearing a JPress tie!" A good salesman who recognized the proprietary made in England Skull and Crossbones tie on a black field (imitating the Skull and Bones tie). A good salesman. He knew his stuff. He made me laugh.

Re: Brooks Brothers OCBD Shirts Made In America Again

They had a tie factory on Long Island and I don't know if it still exists. I think maybe they make all the stuff in NC.  But I am impressed they are moving stuff onshore. there is hopr for America yet. (Can I get this Vaclav arrested for stalking. very strange and very strange.)
