Is there a lapel pin?
And can a circle be an inner circle before it exists?
And an inner circle without elitism? Doesn't an inner circle require an outer circle. What if all the elites are part of the outer circle? Then the outer circle is the inner circle, no?
I need a donut.
RS, I get it. I still have a hard time telling the two apart. I like the ivy style. I like the trad word. Confused.
Is the inner circle going to go public or will it remain an email thing. You're gonna need some public space if your gonna have any influence. Maybe FNB will give you a sub-forum. That way he can have his Wardrobe back.
Maybe I'll put together a list of all the clothes I wear, then you can tell me if I can join or not. But I'll probably keep calling it trad.
I guess I'm out, eh?
Sounds good. I'm in, if you'll have me. Marmer kicked my arse in that contest and I don't know what to do with myself. Looks like Trad is done with me.
You should definitely let LW in. I've met the man, and, in addition to being funny as hell, he is easily the handsomest guy I've ever seen in a pink BD and a blue blazer. That has to count for something in this blighted world.
Brownshoe, You are way too kind. You looked great too, but everyone already knows that.
I think our best days at AAAT are behind us. It's a new crowd. I hope the trad prospers under their watch. We did the best we could. There was once a time when you would have easily gotten second or third place. But you really got you butt kicked this go round. Hell, I voted for you. For old times sake.
I voted for Brownshoe, too. Style and originality should have carried the day, but, alas, these are dark times at the AAA Suburban Conventionality Forum.
As for the topic at hand, sounds like a winner, Jim.

The inner circle will, always be on the, outside . This is a mistake, again, repleated on the, internet.
Might join in after the bar. No time now, priorities are studying and having some semblance of a social life in the off hours/Saturdays.
Coolidge, Glad to see you've finished law school. Seems like you just started. Good luck with the bar. I assume you are taking in Connecticut?
It's a party you can invite yourself to.
At the moment its just an email / PM conversation. If it grows we might do something more with it. Not sure if we want to be influential - At the moment we are refreshingly free from egos & attitudes. We just talk about style.
'Trad' is a snappy name I grant you. And it could have been valid if not for all the made-up stuff that went with it. We just want to be apart from all that. We wish the Trad forum well and intend to continue using it for our evil objectives... ie, just to talk about Traditional American style.

Just as another resource I've opened a 'Russell' account on Modculture to go with the ones here on FNB & on SF.
Can't think of any other forums that'd be of interest.

Hello to all. I'm egadfly -- not to be confused with "Harris," whom I believe has been a fora member for some time.
I live in the Northeastern U.S. and will wear any old thing. Will you have me?
EGF
Sure. I'd have Harris too if he wanted to talk clothes.
Funny old morning - I've collected quite a few names and there's this 'ready-made forum' look to the whole thing already.
Not really sure what to do about that.
Any thoughts?
Any desire for a public space for all this somewhere?
The whole thing is a round table affair - Your thoughts are just as good as mine.
I like the 'Ivy underground' idea of the Inner Circle & I also like the idea of an Ivy style forum. No attitudes, no egos, just style.
Let me know? There's loads of options.
Thanks -
Chums,
Is this like my ol chum's super secret fraternity at University? Perchance, we could design, a signet ring?
All bullocks aside,, it is always a pleasure to speak about classic clothing with this crowd. I somewhat think it is easier to chat here, but TChauncey is nothing if not flexible.
Cheerio.
postus scriptum - might I suggest we layoff comments about ol Marmer. Seems like a genuine bloke with no trace of tyranny yet. If he and the other lads want to be trad,, so be it.
RS, Check out www.ning.com .
Thanks to all - I'm talking behind the scenes to various people in various places as ever to see if we can't find a way to accomodate us all.
No idea what The Project should be called, but I'm looking at options. A Traditional American style place is what is wanted. "Trad" as it should have been & still could be. No leaders, no egos, no attitudes, just style. No manifestos or curriculums either. Just style.
Thanks for your support -
Jim
