Yo H.,

They're super bad.

Are they Bills?

Rock them, until the leg falls off.

Re: Tattered Trad

I really like this look.
Very stylish.
Wish I could relax enough to do it myself...
I'm working on it.
Looking forward to the shirt collars!

Re: Tattered Trad

Some stylish Italians as do some Englishmen, prefer a certain frayed quality to their cuffs and collars.

Re: Tattered Trad

I'm a great fan of slightly bleaching a lot of my casual clothes. This is faking the worn-in look, I know...
Just thinking about Bean's Chambray shirts, I have quite a few all in different blues due to very mild bleach washes depending on if I want them lighter or darker. It shorterns the life of the shirt, I know, but with an inexpensive shirt I don't think that matters too much.
Landsend's inexpensive madras shirts & shorts equally benifit from bleaching to take the noise out of some of their colour choices over there. The result is a much better shirt! (IMO)
Anybody else do this or anything similar?

Re: Tattered Trad

I've grown to love 'collar creep'.
What is the cause?
(Please don't give me details, just one or two words, when you have time).
I can't think of much that I've got or seen that hasn't eventually gone that way  -
Old Press.
Old Brooks.
Ancient Huntsman bespoke.
Anything you like.

I had a slight panic earlier this year when I realised that most of my 20 year old clothes were getting a little shabby and that also, sadly, most of them were no longer being made. Then I had the wisdom to change my attitude and to enjoy the patina that my wardrobe had aquired.
Much better to change yourself than your wardrobe!

Re: Tattered Trad

I've tried about 4 times now with Shetlands Direct!
You phone, talk to a very nice Scottish lady, give her all the details, then IN THEORY, she sends you an invoice, you pay by cheque (no CCs accepted), and she then sends you a big parcel full of bargain Shetlands.
Only she never sends the invoice after the phone call...
Boooo!
I've tried different sizes of orders & still I don't seem to be able to get their attention & do business with them.
Shame.
The Barbour are nice, I just like Andover & Press more... just because they have that Ivy connection that I love!
Shetlands Direct would be perfect though - Such a good price.
Maybe I'll look at Barbour again -
Thanks.
M.
