What is "Ivy" style?

This is:

And they even call it the "Ivy League Classic"!

Re: What is "Ivy" style?

This pic of Robert Wagner pretty much nails the look as I understood it back in the day, and a good excuse to pop up a pic of his missus too.
Scroll down and click on the thumbnail in the album for a larger pic.

I'm a real bore about this pic (down at the bottom here) of the pop star Billy Adams:

- Tell me again why we should give the fine old Classic Traditional American 'Ivy League' style a new name & new rules?

Being a Traditionalist I just need a little more convincing as to why we should.

Re: What is "Ivy" style?

Strangely enough, I had already ordered two bleeding Madras from O'Connells.

Grn2 and Red 2. Customer pictures, so collars are all over the place but they are 'guaranteed to bleed'.

http://www.oconnellsclothing.com/madras_sportshirts.php

$69 compares very favourably to J. Simons prices. (OK there is postage; and customs will probably want money as well)

Then I got an email from O'Connells telling me there was a 20% discount because it was sale time. Not sure when they will arrive.

I once owned Nvy B or very similar from Ivy Shop (possibly Squire Shop) That was THE DEFINITIVE madras - red, white and blue and great big bars of white that you could see for miles.

We are in the internet age. Consumers have more knowledge of what is available. For all those who knock AAAC or AAAT, I would never have heard of O'Connells without that site.
