The same decline in dress standards can be said about journalism. That piece was written by someone who doesnt understand what she's talking about. I suppose I shouldnt be surprised that the only consistency is her suspended ironic and sarcastic tone towards both sides of the formality spectrum.
Journalism in this country is hot button pushing, sensationalist compost. which has declined far more drastically than dress standards.
I also like this country's mood that everyone wants to dress like a bum but runs in panic when they read that everyone else also wants to dress that way.
And men look terrible in those casual clothes at work.

I must say the dress standards in journalism, at least in my part of the world, are positively egregious. I just went by the office of my fellow editors this morning, and there he was in T-shirt and jeans with his flip-flopped feet atop his desk!
I don't who dresses like a bum yet runs in panic when he reads the rest of the country wants to dress in like fashion. I wish more people did feel that way. Perhaps it would shame them into mending their evil ways!
