Why do German people, wear white socks to the beach?
I hope you are listening, as I wanted to know this for many years., and Tuesday at Seacacus station it came to my mind again.
Hartmut, sorry I forgot the T.

Hello Mr. V,
I am sorry for late response, I have been consumed with World Cup.
When we are young, we are taught about the hygene, and how the dirt can come from the street on to the feet, so we are told to wear the socks. Also the feet are not so handsome, so it is best to cover up. I do not care for the socks and sandal looks. It is less handsome than the feet!
Oh Harty - You do write funny.
Miles.
Thank you for responding Hartmut, I think the solution for all people, is weejuns without socks.
Goodluck with Argentina, now I will watch Ecuador with Hector, this is his homeland so I wear yellow and blue.
Truely,
Vaclav

I wish I liked football.
I want to drink beer in the afternoon & for it to be OK.
Thank you H.
Miles, perhaps you could start play dominos, to drink beer in the afternoon.
Truely,
Vaclav
Sorry Harty that was a very unfair comment on my behalf. I think your English is very good - please post more.
I myself write & speak English terribly and, unlike you, speak no other languages.
I'm sorry to have made you feel self-conscious. I mistakenly thought that you were putting it on for a laugh. I should have known better.
Your friend -
Miles.
I don't suppose you'd ever like to come drinking with me would you Hartmut?
I know a little bit about the Ivy Style in Germany in the early '60s.
M.
Germany will probably lose against Germany against Argentina. They defense is too weak, and Argentia has better individual players such as Messi, Savila and Riquelme. In my opinion Klose does not play at the same level although he is very good at the moment. We'll see whether he will score against Argentina. Klose scored all 9 goals at the World Cup against weak teams. However, he never scored at the final rounds!
I am sure Brazil will win the CUP!
Cheers
from Hamburg, Germany
ps: he hate Germans who wear socks with sandals (I hate sandals and white socks in general)...
People here in Hamburg sometimes pretend to be English or at least they yearn to be English. This results in a club culture - e.g. the famous Übersee Club or the Anglo German Club...
Regarding the wardrobe you see a lot of men wearing a navy blazer with gold buttons, grey flannel trouser and black shoes. The Blazer here is very popular - even for business dress a lot of people consider it to be their first choice.
Unfortunately I cannot tell you anything about Modern Jazz in Hamburg. The only jazz club I know is called birdland...
