Re: Ivy League style for today

Blue half sleeve ocbd (deadstock "Club" shirt by Hathaway, I'm guessing early/mid 60s? long collar points but collar is low at the back. The plastic wrapping said tapered but it's quite a full cut for my "Starving European" physique)
Hanes beefy Tee (I had to try one after reading Jim rave about these, nice shirts for sure! I only wear a visible undershirt with short sleeve BDs for some reason)
Slim khakis
Cole Haan penny loafers
Navy cotton blazer with patch pockets (darted, two buttons, side vents but it has an Ivy vibe if worn the right way) wink
A smile!

Re: Ivy League style for today

Sand desert boots, burgundy thin wool socks, rolled up dark H&M 'Original' jeans, sand suede belt.
Then a couple of goodies from a forum pal: Lovely old Van Heusen white OCBD (reminds me a lot of a Levi's one I had in the 80s) and 2" wide Rooster woven square-end tie (Dacron and wool), horizontally striped in muted denim blue, mustard yellow, green and pale grey.
Brooks tweed 2-button sack jacket on top. Black brolly above.

Probably the most dressed down I could get with a tie.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Having just stated on another thread that I cannot swallow Ivy whole, I did have a go yesterday.  I was providing one of the 'Lead Cars' for my cycling club's annual road race and surrounded by well-oiled meaty boys as Anthony Blanche would have said.

Anyway I wore light cotton V neck in a lime-ish green with blue hoops over custom fit pale blue polo - both Polo RL; Lee Brooklyn dark denim jeans just been shortened by my tailor; dark brown Clarks dessies; pale marled green ribbed sock - Viyella.  Just a dash of Monsieur de Givenchy and 842 crop.

Just had to PM to ask who Mr McNairy was, sorry smile

The ubiquitous 'tartan finders' point to Macnaughton tartan. Which looks pretty dismal BTW.

We need to get a tartan thread going!
