Just come across this about the Italian tailor Caraceni

I especially like this...
'...as Edward VII had given him the virus of Dandyism...'
You have to like the Italians.....

Domenico Caraceni had the innate and rare ability to craft a suit for a client largely by visualizing the garment on the client. Tommy Caraceni tells the story about a prospective client visiting the atelier to express interest in a first-time suit. "OK," replied Domenico. "But, aren't you going to take my measurements?" replied the client. "No, I've seen you. You may go," said Domenico. Few tailors have such a combination of artistic and technical skills.
Corvato says his tailoring, if it resembles any Italian tailor, resembles caraceni the most.

Anyone here ever get any outfits from him?

'...I hope the reader has found this an objective and reasonable analysis of two great works...'
Objective and reasonable analysis are not three words I'd use to describe that essay.
edit: typo

Found it!!! The thread starts well, very informative, well written and some nice pics. However, all the good work is undone on page two when Alden goes into hyperdrive.

Interesting reader comment on Will's Website about his experience with Caraceni, illustrating that even the most legendary tailors can come up short.
