today, quite cold (strange as normally mid july to eatrly august is the hottest here)
merino
a white / pale yellow / sand bd shirt (barbour), choc brown v neck (zara), sand or rather light beige slim-cut sta-prest-esque strides (very cheap off a local high street retailer, surprisingly good though!), black belt, black / gray argyle socks, black plain heavy-ish soled lace-ups (barkers), dark red baracuta
would have done better with brown / burgundy shoes + socks with shades of brown + yellow perhaps but i bloody wanted to wear these black heavy barkers! (would have done better w/ - say - burgundy weejuns or my chestnut brown thin-soled italian lace-ups but i really wanted to wear heavy-soled shoes as there still is a bit of tension about town after the local footy teams clashed last monday and heavy shoes might come in handy should any trouble occur - only joking lol)

trying to look smart today (ok i dont mean intelectual)
brown EGreen brogues
green yellow brown argyles
Brooks khakis, cuffed and pressed
yellow Brooks oxfordcloth
plain brown leather belt
timex watch on yellow green navy grosgrain band (newest inheritance)
Casual day today. Reds and a white OCBD. Ribbon belt and penny loafers sans socks. Navy DB blazer with brass buttons ostentatiously left open.
I forgot: Get off the internet! It's for nerds, not for tough guys!
;-) having fun... I know, sometimes it can be difficult to look smart, but not like an egghead, not like a male model (BTW ads in men's fashion nowadays sometimes look like snapshots for documentaries about male prostitution, I think) and not like square...
You want to look smart and hip, right?
Prince Albert is fine! And don't forget to shave the balls... chicks don't dig the hairy teabag thing! And if the missus doesn't like you spending time with/ in gym, get another one! she must be a fake platinum blonde, big airbags and a tramp stamp...
BTW, Prince Albert, we use the same expression in Germany... I always wondered where that comes from... Any ideas?
Slouchy:
Pink Brooks OCBD.
Grey Russell Athletic (no logo) Sweat. (Jesmond reminded me about these yesterday)
Bills M2s.
Grey Burlington Argyles.
Wine Weejuns.
Navy G9 for outside.
slouchy day
Minnetonka moccasins
old frayed Bills khakis button fly
old frayed Brooks white oxford cloth button down - untucked and sleeves rolled up two times
argyle and sutherland loosened with collar button undone
Black Tassel Weejuns.
Red Burligtons.
LL Bean Vintage wash jeans, half inch turn ups.
Plain black belt.
Blue Flap-pocket OCBD. Press.
Hanes White T.
Natural G4.
J.
First Tweed of The Season!
High Summer here, but feeling like Autumn -
Mid-Grey (kinda Oxord Grey, you know the shade?) Heringbone Sack. J. Press. Late 80's / early 90's?
White Mercer OCBD. Wish I'd worn Brooks.
Charcoal LL Bean year-round lightweight wool trousers. Flat front with 1.5" Cuffs. Much, much lighter than those Bills I wore the other day.
Grey Burlington Argyles.
Yesterday's Black Tassel Weejuns.
Kinda Breakfast @ Tiffs. and very 'Collegiate' I think.
Out to lunch as usual (in every sense).
J.
It warmed up later so I ditched the Tweed.
The lightweight wool trou. remained perfectly cool though. Bills would not have.
J.
Autumnal again so yesterday's clobber with a fresh shirt & socks!
Blue Press Flap-pocket OCBD. Pre-Canada.
Plain charcoal socks. M&S!
I think the Press sack is 1990, but may be 1989 stock. Too lazy to check the old catalogues looking for clues. Then again back then you could get the same stuff year after year much more than you can now, not that the new more seasonal collections aren't a welcome change... Ramble...

not very ivy today..
a white cut-away collar shirt w/ burgundy/pink/pale grey/grey/cobalt/navy/lilac/dark navy stripes (paul smith), grey o neck merino top (no name off a high street retailer), black belt, dark denim jeans w/ 3/4" turn-ups, gray/black/burgundy argyle socks, black doc marten shoes (rainy as f--k in the morning), beige short mac (loro piana), a black umbrella.
Jason> would never have guessed they were PS, not really my thing but never mind about that because *you* will look great in them, esp when wearing that outfit you describe.....do like the colour still.....best,
Alex
thanks Alex..yea Smithy's F/W range of shoes is more "mature" and his takes on classic men's shoes. I've noticed the quality has gone up a notch with some fineries in the detail and finishing, things like channeled soles and beveled waists. But figures Mr Smith would make an otherwise old man fogey tassel loafer into something that has an edge to it.
lounging today
minnetanka mocs - no socks
Brooks khaki shorts
old blue Brooks oxford cloth buttondown
oh yes, today:
red gingham check ss 3bd shirt (ben sherman), beige narrow sta-prest-like strides (high street no name), burgundy weeejuns, matching belt, red socks (falke), navy vintage g4 (not a real baracuta but a surprisingly well-made finnish copy from mid-late 6ts), brooks bros shades, over-grown suedehead haircut courtesy of mine and my barber's summer holidays.

Like the loafers, Get Smart, but don't go walking down carpeted stairways for a few days!
Tan suede chukkas, black/deep red/off-white argyles, slim lightweight khakis, brown leather belt, blue slim-fit Brooks OCBD, 3" wide silk Argyle & Sutherland tie, black merino cardigan, natural-coloured G9
