Cute article. Children are  normally such conformists, one wonders how long the little lad will continue swimming against the stream.

If a tot of mine pirated some of my favorite neckties to use as pirate headbands, it definitely would have elicited some disciplinary action on my part!

My mother once got me beautifully dressed to go to some event, and out of sheer devilment I jumped into the fish pool, slopping about in the water hyacinths. For that one, she beat me and beat me and beat me some more, as was usually her way.

Nice to see the little chaps in four-in-hands. My mother customarily had me wear a clip-on bowtie for dress-up occasions. Perhaps I subconsciously rebelled against the "wrongness" of it all, and that's why I jumped in the fishpond!
