The jackets likely were not made by G&H. I like both cloths, although the second one is more interesting, IMO. The styles are very English, the first with its strong military shoulders and nipped-in waist and the second with the slanted pockets, ticket pocket and "button three" front closure. It boils down to how well they fit, although a good tailor can help make them fit.
I prefer the two button jacket and it cost you less.
Cut appeals more to me. I do not like the fussy lapel detail on the other jacket or the ticket pocket.
I note poor pattern matching on many windowpanes these days but your jacket is fine.
Tweeds do have an older image. That may bother some people.
Didn't Andy Gilchrist get a jacket almost identical (if not identical) to the second one shown above from Bookster?
Indeed, Andy has the second one

I bought the first one for the moment. I like the ticket pocket and the colour of the second one, but it's a bit too loud for my taste.
l'm becoming very tempted to try Peter King out. Does he have a return policy in case the tweed coats can't be tailored?
They do not accept returns due to size for the ebay items. For their own stuff they have a return policy here

Im sure Peter will answer your questions quickly.
