Here's to capitalism! Not quite that dapper myself, today, no direct customer contact, but compared with my "office mate" (I still share an office!) almost elegant...
got a little cold, so I dressed very warm:
white oxford shirt/ red cashmere crewneck, tan wide whale corduroy trousers, medium low rise, vintage wide brown belt, brown suede chukkas, red socks (very daring... could be regarded as a leftwing statement!) and a well- worn boxy tweed jacket, shepherds check, 4 (!) button, 2 on the cuff, raised seams, flap + patch + button (!) pockets, hook vent, no buttonhole in the lapels, plain grey cashmere scarf....Ivy? maybe...
got home... jeans, t-shirt, cardigan...

Hank,
Can't wait to be able to haul all of that stuff out but it's at least a month away for me. You're not at Ice Station Zebra or something, are you?
No, but my office mate always likes to keep that window open...He#s a real "tough guy"- outdoor sort of person, who spends most of his spare time fly-fishing or hunting... he was dressed in a North Face hooded sweater (vomit green/olive) and khaki SHORTS with white socks and non-descript outdoor trainers... that's his usual outfit, and he had already problems about wearing that... my boss was especially offended by his flip-flops....
Whenever he has to wear a suit, he refers to it as his "monkey costume"... and I only think: Yes, it is... indeed! But I never say anything... I don't care what other people wear, in general... of course, I can notice something nice, but I would NEVER make snide remarks about the way other people dress! I would only say something if I was offended by his smell...but I would have to think about what to say exactly, and it would be kinda embarrassing for me to bring up that subject...BTW, I live in West Germany...the weather over here changes at leat twice a week...
I really caught a cold I think...must be the nightlife...
Best, HBH

Happy with today's. And the sun is shining:
black chelsea boots
dark grey socks
slim H&M 'Sliq' raw denim jeans
LE off-white/black gingham seersucker 3BD
grey merino sweater vest (searched for a long time, it's a bugger to get one that fits well)
Brooks sack blazer (I need a spare one)
today, rather classic:
a red small gingham bd (brooksbros), very dark choc brown lightweit wool trousers, slim but not tight, flat front, no cuffs (oscar jacobsen), a black belt, burgundy socks (falke) black wingtips (florsheim imperial), a sand/light brown 3b jacket, linen/cotton mix, very natural shoulder, patch pockets, hooked vent (sand, bought yesterday), + a grey 3button mac (daniel hechter) and burgundy paisley silk scarf when out.
on the other hand, ther might be some modern approach elements, like the trews or the jacket.. anyway, they are from contemporary, not standard issue ivy manufacturers and both labels are scandinavian, sand from denmark + jacobsen from sweden.
anyway, funny enough, i found thge sand TNS jacket some fifteen minutes after having complained out loud to a mte of mine that 'i bl--dy can't find even remotely decent a sports jacket off the peg, i have to go bl--dy bespocke which i acnt bl--dy afford right now!' and there it was, from 2007 season, w/ a super sale price of - 70%!! well happy, me!

^That is splendidly obnoxious. The clothes, I mean. Really good. Pure What The Hell style.

AGQ and patrick, i really like what you're wearing today!
patrick, having seen postings for a couple of years now first in andyland and now here i must say that when you're going casual you're spot on. very pared down, cool, calm, collected, relaxed. very nice.
AGQ, you're cool as f--k, in a way that really suits you. now, i must admit i was not too keen on a few of your former styles posted here, with waistcoats and all that. too - say - bourgeois + not enough ivy in my book. but the latest, i like very much. perhaps the cigar and that mean f--k you expression on your face hits the nail for me. good job.
Heikki,
If I look cool as f**k, it's probably the first time in my rather square life, but thanks for saying so. I like to mix my styles a bit and this is one variation. As for the expression, I drew inspiration from some of Patrick's character-oriented photos. Of course, I owe a sort of perverse debt to TSC.
