I have two- both Alden. One in whiskey shell (I think I wear them almost too ofetn) and one in #8. Will post pics tomorrow.
I dont like monk straps but you guys enjoy yourselves.
Does this mean I should post a very explicit Shoe Pyramid?
NO! Never do it!
Regards: The Shooman.
I thrifted one. Brown suede and a brass buckle. It doesn't fit as I am used to and I am not in the mood to fiddle around.
If, I bring them to work, I'll post pics

I like the table cloth.

No offense taken. I was talking about the RTW offerings in general.
The question is not, what do I expect from a pair of shoes? My question, I ask myself, what is a good/the best bang for my buck?
But sticking with Alden. The Alden's I saw(6 months ago) in flesh in a high end shoe store in Vienna, did disappoint me. No more, or less.

l've never been a fan of suede, but l reckon a double monk with some sort of flashy reverse welted construction in reverse calf would look pretty good. lt would be a fat boy type of shoo, very casual.
Was never a fan of double monks, but now l feel they have some appeal.
l reckon monks with a big buckle say `F You' to the world. At least they do in my part of the world in this day and age.

I have loved monks since I was a child (before I knew they were called monks.) I wore them in prep school as a way of sticking it to the admin. We were told you had to wear brown or black shoes, and they couldn't be loafers, I found rebellion in buckles. I still love them.
