Looking through the archives on Scott Schuman's site, I noticed that he tends to favour a distinct style - dark blue suit, light blue or blue striped shirt, navy/black knitted tie and dark brown shoes. His models are often Italian but the latest is from New York - http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qjpwnPW4c1o/SNOZTyXLRCI/AAAAAAAAEDo/GFwTXTskl5g/s1600-h/9088ZstripesuitWeb.jpg. Stylish or cliched?
His choice of women is, however, generally excellent but I like slim women too.
It's too fashion-forward, catwalk-style for me.

I think the Sartorialist has taken the word of fashion fora--which has long expounded the virtues of brown shoes with blue suits--too seriously.
Lots of his fashion-y type photos are far too contrived.
I like that suit and tie combo. But I don't read the site. I've looked at a few times, but it bores me.
Good stuff too:

This one is a travesty of a mockery of a sham:

Many of the women look just fine but he overemphasizes precious looking men.
Thanks for the first two FNB
A pox on your house for the last two..
He basically ripped off Bill Cunningham, whose man-on-the-street pictorial essays on style have been the highpoint of the Sunday NY Times for as far back as I can remember. Cunningham's take on style is also more interesting.

I like Scott's work a lot. I remember when he first started and used Ask Andy to get his blog out. Oddly, like a lot of good people, Scott left Ask Andy and never went back. Not sure what happened there but his early stuff was fantastic. Like Cunningham mentions in the interview; I think the early Scuman let the street speak to him. Now, someone else is speaking to him or telling him what to do and I have to think that's GQ.
He still captures some stunning women. I once commented on how his wife dealt with his being away and with so many beautiful women. The comment was rejected.

I liked the recent two older gentlemen with the raincoats draped over their shoulders.
