denk you denk you
That is the Press gingham shirt, a favorite.
The combination of checked shirt, knit tie, and cord jacket is always a favorite of mine--IF you skew it "60s collegiate" rather than "70s Robert Walden in 'Lou Grant.'"
A Shetland the colour of Porridge,
White OMGOCBD,
LL Bean Vintage wash jeans (1/2 turn-ups),
Grey Argyles,
Camp Mocs.
Didn't go with the tie today after all, maybe tomorrow.

Chum,
the chinos with grey hose and weejuns is top drawer.
H.
mine today:
a red small gingham check bd (brooksbros), a burgundy sleeveless v neck (off a local gents outfitters), a charcoal 3b jacket, almost natural shoulders, sack cut, nice lapel roll, no vents (finnish made, mid-sixties, not pure ivy but fits within the look), beige sta-prest, burgundy socks (falke), burgundy/chestnut brown plain lace-ups (italian, off a local gents outfitter), matching belt
yesterday i had something like this:
a navy/pale yellow/burgundy plaid check bd (rl), a burgundy v neck (vintage 'old bond street london', probably from mid to late sixties but in great condition), a grey 4 button tweed jacket, no side vents, slim sack-ish cut, slightly bootcut sand needlecord jeans (off a gents outfitters), charcoal/navy/pale grey argyles, burgundy weejuns, matching leather belt, a vintage navy mac for the cold morning, burgundy paisley silk scarf.
sunday was footy day, so no jacket and stuff:
a navy gingham bd (massimo dutti), red lambswool v neck (pringle), dark denim jeans w/ 3/4" turnups (h&m), charcoal/navy argyles, black wingtips (vintage florsheim imperial), black belt, cream short mac (loro piana), the same scarf as on monday. not into team scarves, me.
tomorrow i'll work from home so it'll be probably of a polo shirt with worn jeans variety.

Charcoal Herringbone 3/2 Sack (Press) & Olive Chinos (Landsend) - flatfront & 1.5" cuffs.
Brooks Blue/White Candy Stripe BD.
'Navy' Shetland Shaggy Dog - The colour of spilled ink.
Navy/Burgundy/Silver/Dark Green repp tie from Marco Polo in the Knightsbridge Arcade (long gone now). The knot just shows above the crew neck of the Shetland framed by the belling out of the BD collar roll.
Dark Charcoal socks & Black Penny Weejuns.
Kinda Bronze coloured Metal framed reading glasses.
I'm liking the Black loafer more & more these days with Olive, Blue or Grey trou. So many places muck up Brown & Cordo these days that a good looking Black shoe is easier to find. I like 'em slightly dull, not highly shined. To get the right look polish them then just leave them lying around under your study desk so the dust can settle on them. Gives them the right look I think. Just like a White shirt looks best after a few washes so it's dulled down too...
slouching round the house today
grey socks
oldest bills buttonflys (cant wear them out anymore crotch gone)
old gray swearshirt, frayed collar and cuffs, 'NAVY' in navy blue on front
Donkey Brown seemless Westerway/Westaway Shetland.
Crimson Shop Tattersall BD. Blue/Blue/White.
Khaki Woolrich Cord Chinos. J. Simons.
Mid-Grey/Grey/Grey Burlington Argyles - One of the three shades of Burligton Grey Argyle which you can get in Paris, but not in London
Buffalo Creek Traders Handsewn Virginian Penny Scotchgrain loafers.
^ I mention these items only to make it clear that I have them.
Cry 'trad' boy, cry!
Curriculum, I guess:
Olive herringbone 3/2 sack jacket, narrow lapels, raised seams, hook vent, flap pockets (not patch)...blue OCBD...narrow burgundy silk knit tie, squared off (hand me down from my father, who's much too fat for narrow ties, now)...flat fronted grey flannels, 1.5" cuffs (!), cordovan belt, cordovan plain bluchers, navy dress socks and my famous blue raincoat...
Got out my old Eastland Beefrolls today just to sit & admire them. One pair Black, one pair Cordo from J. Simons in '87. Wot a lovely shoo they are. Handsewn in Freeport, Maine. The company still exists, but in a much reduced way. Nice deep toe box. Ian at The Ivy Shop thought they were Sebagos at first until he looked closer. The early Autumn morning sunlight is slanting down through my study window and spotlighting them in a most attractive way as they sit there on a pile of invoices which should have been sent out a few days back...
I'm going with the Cordo today with yet more Grey Argyles. Khaki Chinos & Tan Cord 3/2 Slack. Blue/White Candy Stripe BD & a wool knit tie that looks like the A&S but done in horizontal stripes. I think Mr. Polling has a similar one.
Coltrane on the record player again. Kettle just about to boil...

dark brown moc-toe Clarks walking shoes and baby-blue piqué socks
brown cord jeans and cracked old brown brass-buckled belt
pink tradd-fitt Brooks OCBD, to bring a little colour into my drab and dreary life
navy lambswool crewneck

One little enjoyable thing is that I am driving around in a rented 71ps smart today while my 12 year old Nissan is in the garage making money for someone else.
A fun little car with a LOT more oomph than I'd expected.
EG brown brogues
navy socks
levis 501 button flys
plain white tee shirt
forest green shetland wool crewneck sweater
brooks navy blazer
kinda somber eh?
Ah, the ol' green tie with the blue blazer. A classic reinterpreted by Patrick. You appear to be ruminating like ol' Richard Milhous in one of those pics.
