Re: Three different tailors - Three very different bespoke suits

The second suit is a textbook example of what happens when you take a classic English style and attempt to convert it into a soft unpadded suit. The poster is fair enough to admit that the outcome was their fault for straying so far from the tailor's normal style.

I wouldn't be happy with any of them but if you put a gun to my head I would take the third suit which turned out to be the Chan although I would like to change the button stance.

This guy really needs an intervention fast, based on his line of reasoning, below, however, the LL members remind me of the crowd that gathers to watch a man threatening to hurl himself off a building and shout, "Jump!"

Which one so far do you feel has earned your repeat business?

Well frankly, the input of the forum, in summary, reflects quite accurately my own feelings:
* Tailor no 2 does the best trousers
* Tailor no 3 does the best jacket although several fixes are required (lower buttoning stance, slightly longer jacket, maybe even higher armholes, etc)

Given that I am quite sure that I wont give any more business to A&S. I could give a navy blazer or so to G&H, just because the actual experience of the fittings etc. was so incredible and she does seem to listen well. A part from that I think all my future suits will either go to Chan, who I think might be willing to take the critique into account, or a different tailor altogether (Steed seems to be popular around here)

l'm unable to view any pictures in the L.L thread, so i'll have to keep largely out of this topic. mad

This standing erect excuse Alden makes for the tailor is pretty laughable. Any good tailor is going to spend time with a client chatting while he observes your walk, natural stance and sitting positions over a period of a couple of hours; then he will measure you. lf you are standing erect, a good tailor will know it's not your natural posture, and he will tell you to relax..just like when he was chatting to you earlier.

Wasn't that Hitchcock guy the same person who botched Mantons' suit? That double breasted number worn when promoting his book.

l reckon Raj would have a few stinkers in his closet. Sorry...couldn't resist.  tongue
