Venanzi

I stopped by Venanzi on 56th and Fifth.  I am far from an expert, but the store appeared to me to have beautiful clothing.  Expensive, but not ridiculously expensive.  I tried on an OTR suit,  which was $2700.  It fit extremely well.   The jacket, without alterations, actually fit better than the Oxxford suit jacket I was wearing, which had undergone a lot of alterations.  In addition, I really like the cut of the suit.  The sales person said I did not need bespoke because I could wear a 42 without significnt alterations. I have very limited bespoke experience and have never been happy with the result.  The suit/pants  have never turned out the way I expected /envisioned.  I purchased a couple of ties, which make a great knot. The rest of the clothes  --  shirts, pants, suits  --  also looked very nice.  Does anybody have any experience with Venanzi?  Also, does it make sense that if I wanted a great fit, I could get it off the rack?  Thanks.

Re: Venanzi

I remember when $2,700 was alot fo a suit.  Might want to hoof it over to Raphael on Madison Ave. before you plunk down almost three boxes of ziti on an off-the-rack suit.  For a little more, you get a custom-made suit that might provide more enjoyment over time.
