Re: Ivy League Jazz

Alex, interesting that the Blue Note book is easier to get than 'California Cool', yet to my way of thinking the Blue Note clothing styles are more interesting (maybe with the exception of Jimmy Smith!), and Graham Marsh's article really swings it.  Does Obama look like Dexter Gordon?

Re: Ivy League Jazz

A great new contact for us all and another place where Jazz and Ivy style meet is Mr. Dean Rudland who is working on writing something for The Cause right now on buying his Weejuns from John Simons back in the day.

God, things look so much better when life was that simple, Black and White and a few shades in between. I will sleep a happier man after seeing those pic again.

Re: Ivy League Jazz

Nothing to do with jazz, but that pub is a great little boozer. Always was long before Fabric or any of the new places were even thought of.

I first tried it for a works Christmas evening do. We had the whole place taken over

It is the most authentic of the Smithfield 'breakfast' pubs. The Fox & Anchor has been gastro-ed. The Hope was for posties.

The Cock always had the most people wearing traditional Smithfield bloody white coats. It was as much a caff as a pub too, though I always had alcohol with my breakfast.

In the old day,s they had a meal offer where if you ate the whole thing(an enormous steak) it was free.
