Determining number of buttons

Are there reasons to choose three, two or one button jackets on single breasted suits?

And, are the number of buttons on a jacket sleeve meaningful?

I shall commission a suit:

Re: Determining number of buttons

In the UK I was always told that for cuffs it was three buttons on RTW and four buttons on bespoke. But then the RTW people went and muddied the waters in the 90's by putting four buttons on their sleeves...

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.
