Hardy Amies goes into administration

http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5jgyDaChUHPPgOEPNJ-WPx0_vJDow

A very sad day for the Row even though the firm has been in trouble for some time. I wonder how many Row firms will survive the current financial meltdown. My own financial hit this week is well into six figures so my sartorial plans for this season have been put on hold until a clearer picture emerges.

Re: Hardy Amies goes into administration

I was under the impression that Hardy Amies has always had financial trouble.

Given the rather odd clothing that they advertise, I'm not surprised.

Mayor Boris has a cunning plan - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/main.jhtml?xml=/opinion/2008/10/28/do2801.xml&posted=true&_requestid=95225.

"I read the other day that the credit crunch had affected the dress-procurement strategy of the Queen. Sensitive to the mood of her subjects, she had decided not to lash out on any new frocks, but to recycle the old ones. I read that with alarm. Who is giving her economic advice these days? Now is exactly the moment for the Queen - who has a bob or two - to buy dresses, now when the milliners and dressmakers of London could do with a right royal tonic. This is not the moment for dowdiness and self-sufficiency; this is the moment for a life-affirming splurge."
