Re: Ivy League style for today

Andover 'Blazer Grey' Shetland - I think that's what they used to call this shade. It's Oxford Grey pretty much.
'Marsh Brown' Cord Chinos from Bean.
Sebago Caymans in Cordo coloured cow skin. Similar belt in Steerhide.
Dark Green Argyles, Burlington.

... And today's shirt comes from J. Press with a button-down collar and chest pocket flap. It is made out of Blue Oxford cloth. No T. today.

Best -

Re: Ivy League style for today

Looks good to me. So did yesterday's. And I think that both hairstyles work very well too.

*Sudden Inspiration*

We should do something on scarves now that it's getting nippy out.

Thanks for the idea, Blue - You keep on keeping on -

Best,

Jim

Thanks for the compliments, guys. What would it take for you to post your pictures, Jim? I'm dying to see how your outfits are actually put together.

^ A very nice Autumnal rig, Mike.

I'm more or less wearing yesterday's clothes today. Is that allowed?

Re: Ivy League style for today

I was in the shower at 5 this morning. I tell ya I work like a dog.

Don't think I'll risk this shirt for 3 days in a row though... There are limits to my slobdom.

I like that quote by Cheever's daughter about how his shoes might be down at heel or his sweaters out at the elbow and that was fine because he believed that men didn't bother about such things, but he wouldn't go a day without shaving because that would just be sloppy.

Words to that effect anyway.

Getting quite sunny here now.

I shall go and chop wood. Pork Pie is at Art Club after school today so I can do what I want after that. Mrs Street is off shopping and if I wasn't blaring out music in here then the house would be deliciously quiet with only the ticking of the mantle clock to break the calm of the afternoon. I hope Mrs Street remembers my Lamb chops for tonight. She never will make a proper list. Chops and mash with a few peas - A meal I've loved since I could first chew...

End of blog entry.

J.

Re: Ivy League style for today

inspired by the classic steve mc queen pic:

a white big-collared, nice roll ocbd, baby blue pringle v neck, a beige/natural fred perry harrington, collars turned up, dark denim jeaqns w. 3/4" turnup, pale blue socks. i wish i had face like steve's, mine's more like shaun ryder's (albeit properly shaven)

Re: Ivy League style for today

My Americanized Midwestern version:

RL blue Uni Stripe OCBD
Burgundy, green, gold stripe vintage tie
Heavy charcoal wool trousers, Woolrich hunting pants, I wear as dress in cold weather.
Yellow surcingle from Leatherman, kinda bright for me but kinda GTH
worn out olive cord sportcoat w/thinsulate from Bean, to keep my old bones warm, doubles as outerwear.
PRL brown shell darlton pennies, with navy wool otc socks from Joey Banks, made in USA to my surprise.

My workplace is not very well heated, so time to break out the cold weather gear.
