OK here's some stuff that even Sator will be shocked at ( recently purchased- waiting for arrival):
750g/m tweed- for a 6x3 "car coat"/suit (matching pants that I WON'T usually wear together)
1000g/m whipcord overcoating ( I'm getting a 22 oz wool twill lining in this one- bwahahahaha!!!)
and a little extra of the twill for another pair of pants.
Truth be told, I'm tired of freezing in the winter but I'll be back in the 8 oz stuff (or linen blends)when summer returns. It has little to do with drape (whatever that means)or some bogus paean to the past but a lot to do with my personal comfort- I just can't pull off wearing fur and I don't notice the weight so there you go.
I do, however expect that these items will outlast me. Heck, I get 15 years+ out of 13 oz. woollen flannel suits- and they don't just sit in the closet either.

Just saw this newsflash on CNN: The bodies of five iGents were found today in the infamous Death Valley. Tests conclude the cognoscenti expired from heat stroke, apparently the direct consequence of wearing extremely heavy woolen suits and neckties tightly secured with Windsor knots which took authorities an hour to undo. Sources say the fora gentleman were acting on reports that an inexpensive Neapolitan bespoke tailor had just set up shop there.
