I have been watching season 1 of Mad Men on DVD. The character of Roger Sterling frequently wears a club collar shirt with tie pin. Was that a common look for most in that period, or is that a more dandified look at that time?
I rather like the look myself.
I noticed Michael J. Fox's character wearing a tartan plaid club collar w/ pin (plus a knit tie) on an old episode of Family Ties last night. Looked mighty Ralph-ish, if you get my meaning.
Here's Frank & Leroy again:

He pins it!
A bump for our collar pin musings -
No reason:

Off the top of my head I don't ever really recall seeing many collar pins on a classic style collars. Usually seems to be club collars. Anyone got any pics of classic collars with the pin?
^ There are several more pictures of him in it too, in black and white, in GettyImages. It isn't donkeys is it? I didn't think donkeys galloped!
Springboks?
