Sartorial Currency Conversion

Does anyone believe the pound will hit parity with the dollar or the euro drop below that?

If it does what opportunities would Americans indulge themselves in for English or overseas goods?

I dream of that day.

More English bespoke shoes, more shirts in Riva fabrics... what else could I ask for? smile

The last time and only time the two were at parity was the beginning of my Savile Row shopping. My only regret was that I wasn't smart enough to forsee that the ratio was temporary. I should have bought more. Much more.

I think the UK has just gone into the hole first, the US will follow later. Hence, a short term parity might result, but it will revert back to "normal". So save up yer dollars and stand ready! Smart UK retailers might consider offering a wee discount to US customers if parity happens, they would move a ton of shit, for a weeks anyway.

Re: Sartorial Currency Conversion

Thanks Marc. I may actually be in the UK sometime early next year so I will stop by there. If currencies keep doing what they are doing, I may have to make a list of places I want to stop by at to take advantage of the favorable currency exchange.
