Coiled Pleasures?

What happened to Patrick's blog?   I saw he had another one up, but the link is gone now...

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

He had a post on the other blog, which was obliquely about women, he took it down, then soon afterward the entire blog. Coiled Pleasures was finished at the same time.

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

A real shame- I conversed with Patrick a little over at AAAC and always enjoyed his dry wit- someone get him to reconsider.

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

He was in on the 'Ivy Style' thing too and was writing again for us before all this.

My POV? Real life is more important.

Cheers, Pat!

A happy Pat is the only thing that counts. The rest is just smoke & mirrors.

May the road rise up to meet you.

Best -

Jim

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

Yo -

I started getting some extremely weird emails from people who clearly live around here. CP had run its course anyway; I will start something else in a few months when my life isn't quite so peculiar.

Jim, I still have something on tattersalls for you, just haven't had the time.

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

Yes, that would probably incent me to wind down the blogging efforts as well, very creepy indeed..

Good luck, and hope to see more of your writing, in whatever format, in the future..

A much less obnoxious version is still here:

By necessity it has to be tame - there is actually oversight.

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

Really enjoyed your blog Patrick.  Sad to see you shut things down, but obviously I would do the same if I started getting creepy emails.  Hope you enjoy your R&R and get back to blogging some time soon.

Patrick,

Regret to hear you are having that sort of trouble.  Perhaps we should despatch some of our Hard lads from London to your loacation to put a bit of stick about?

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

Patrick- I think you had one of the most personal blogs out there and I thought it was one of the best.  Great piece on the series.  The Yankess were a client of mine for five years.  Bizzare stories about G.M.S. are primed and ready to go.  Come back soon with your new one.

Patrick -- I'll add my voice to the chorus.  I miss CP and I wish you all the best.   Looking forward to more Sullivan wisdom and whimsy -- don't let the whack-a-doodles get you down!

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

You make a great contribution to the Forum, Patrick. I hope that you are able to return in a way that you are comfortable with.

FWIW, this is an excellent example of the downside of the net. Naively, I didn't initially realize  the benefit of being hard to locate. Patrick, another that posts here and I, were sought out by a poster from another forum, some time ago, that wanted to be our new best friend. Like stepping in chewing gum.

Maybe a new user name, and photos without the face would help. The experience that Patrick and I had a few years ago involved the guy logging on to Patrick's newspaper home page and scouring his articles on things like a recap of the sewer commission meeting, etc. Way too much time on his hands.

Northeast Ct is lovely this time of year. I like the RS suggestion of a  number of us showing up to cover Patrick's back, if it would be of help. Imagine the deterring impact of several guys accompanying Patrick on his daily rounds; in 3 piece sack suits, OCBD shirts, rep ties, and heavily armed.

Afterwards, we could check out the Andover Shop in Boston, and JP in New Haven, might be a nice outing. Just a thought.

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

I remember that. It was bizarre. He sent me a thick envelope full of New Jersey travel brochures. "See Perth Amboy!" Yikes.

Re: Coiled Pleasures?

Patrick , if the rumours to which Big Tony alludes are correct - may I offer my services either in a technical capacity-or perhaps as associate producer?
