James is absolutely correct! Tom's posts have always been superb, and a great learning experience for many of us.

It was easy to resonate with his experiences at the venerable old JP store on York Street in New Haven, and his appreciation of the jazz scene.

It would be a great fall addition for both Tom22 and Cooly to be back here.

Tom is a good man, one of the most honest on the interweb.

Tom ol' Chum, you are missed.  Please grace us with your venerable presence once again.

Cheerio,

Maybe I drove him off. He used to get awfully P.O.'ed at me for various reasons.

Chums,

In an interweb full o synchophants and rule followers,, ol Tom is an authentic voice.

Perchance he just had to find a new vacation spot so that ol Stink did not keep popping up on him.

Cheerio.

Those of Irish extraction are always welcome on the Trad board, you know....

Re: An Open Letter To Mr. Tom22 -

the internet invites bad manners. I apologize to Horace for my many sins (how Catholic can you get?) I think I don't have much to contribute at this point. Nice to read these few posts.
I am trying to get away from the internet. I can not help but put up a post about the AAAC thread concerning soft collar black tie. The Prince of Wales, Coop, Gable, Douglas Fairbanks Jr.? what do they know compared to the shirtmaker for hedge funds.
I do wish everyone well. These days life just seems so serious. tom

Glad all is well, Tom.

The events of the day are indeed not a source of joy. However, it seems to be a plus for a Forum like Talk Ivy. After finishing the NYT, it is a pleasure to click on here, and see posts by kindred spirits, who aren't shouting at each other, and are engaged in rather inconsequential thoughts that we find of great interest.

A wonderful way to stay happy, when much else argues against it.

Tom, I've missed you terribly.  Glad to see you pop in on occasion.
