Have been wanting an orange down jacket after being inspired by one in Bean's catalog of a couple years back, although, I failed to move on it and now it's discontinued by Bean. Spotted a similar jacket offered by Eddie Bauer and now that I have it, am wondering if the color is too jarring. Your thoughts?

If you spend a lot of time stalking game in the Maine woods, I think it is perfectly acceptable..
Just kidding. I actually like it a lot. I have an olive colored zip up sweater that has a lining very similar in color to that coat, which is very easily visible when the sweater is not zipped up all the way. It is very loud and in your face, but then that's the overall aesthetic. I wouldn't hesitate to wear that example.
A good mood lifter for the bad weather. I like it.
Damning with faint praise.
If orange looks good on you, I would get it, otherwise orange.
It's a nay from me Marc, sorry. But, if ya likes it, go for it....
reminiscent to my eye of 1970`s ski jackets - I like it -it`s got a real manly ruggedness to it.
I would only buy an orange garment for outdoor wear if it were legally mandated for the pursuit of game.
