I am looking for a pair of shoes to wear with corduroys. Dress shoes and/or loafers with leather soles do not look right to me. I was thinking of a rubber soled shoe with a pebbled leather upper. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I would wear either a nice chunky wingtip shoe (brown or tan) with a double sole, or alternatively, a chukka boot with a dainite sole if you really have an aversion to leather soles with corduroy trousers (which I disagree with by the way). C&J make some very nice wingtips with rubber soles if you insist.
Brown suede chukkas from Crockett & Jones or JP Togs
Note that it is now less than one week until Corduroy Day - 11/11, the date that most resembles corduroy.

I think the wale of the cord should also be a factor - Wide wales need a heavier shoe, IMO, whereas Needlecords can be paired with lighter, more elegant items.
