I notice at the courthouse that many of the bailiffs and tipstaff dress better than the lawyers.  I wonder what they think.  As a lawyer, I would never step foot in the courthouse without a tie.  As a solo practitioner, people are inclined to look down upon me, so I dress to the nines to compensate.  It seems to work.
