What gives with the quality at Bean?

I recently bought a pair of the camp mocs for my wife. They're okay -- but not what there were. The sole if different. The leather doesn't seem as good either, but that could just be me thinking of "better days".
I bet Bean just isn't interested in demanding 100% satisfaction from supplliers. As long as certain tolerances are met, what the hell. Arguing with some guy from Dumpinesia in some bizarre language that his latest shipment of calfskin isn't as good as the last one must be frustating.
Funny how the cheaper something is, the more we demand from it.
