Re: Ivy League style for today

Wish my digitial camera was working so I could show you this:

Vintage Brooks Brothers 3/2 sack suit, Pre 1962 Union tag.  The top buttonhole on the lapel is actually situated slightly above the breast pocket. 8.5 inch trouser bottoms, 13inch rise.  non-kissing two on the cuff.  Brownish Grey Glen Plaid.

Saddles of Boston blue university stripe point collar shirt.
Brown, Blue and Cream silk/wool foulard 2-inch necktie.
My necktie rich and modest, and asserted with a simple pin.

An old Harris 3/2 Sack from Moose... (Muted shades of Brown)
An old  Press OCBD from Chris_H. ... (Blue of "Imported Fabric")
An old Westaway Shetland from my Brother... (A deep Burgundy)

... But I did at least buy my own trousers: Flatfront Olive LL Bean Cord Chinos.

Best -

Re: Ivy League style for today

i quite (read: very much) like the look of the 6876 mac. a perfect example how combining contemporary items with a timeless styel works.

when weathers here get milder (next spring or the like) i'll posta a pic of my loro pianma short mac which quite nicely combines ivy with - say - a casual way of dress. (casual as 'footy casual', that is)

Oh god I wish we had snow like that over here. Really love that outfit Patrick, and I don't see any reasons for not wearing jeans - looks good!

Re: Ivy League style for today

In America I guess the Polo coat is the cliche - Very hard for a man to wear in the UK now-a-days. Looks like a Gangster's or a Woman's coat over here.
The Chesterfield would be my choice if I wasn't a slave to the Balmacaaaaaan.

^ And none of these coats are American in origin of course, along with the Pea & the Duffel &...  wink
