Do the old 50's/60's Florshiem lmperials fit true to size?

I'm a true UK size 8, average width, and my US size 8.5 D Florsheims fit perfectly.
Please let me know if there are any tan US 8.5 Ds left after you've rinsed that place ;-)

Are these old shoos better than today? Old Florsheims are better than new Florsheims, that's easy, but there are brands which sell serious double-soled longwings that I bet are better than any 1960s versions. Not trying to be a spoilsport, just raising a point. I can see the historical/collecting value, esp for someone like you Shooey, who already owns more shoos than you will ever need.
