probably a modern AE standard of quality, maybe a touch less. Geez...the Americans make some pretty awesome longwings mate! No-one can even try to make them as quaint and stunning as those guys, great storm welts too (a big heavy `gunboat'). l'm definately gonna have have to get an Alden. All shoos feel different, l don't care for Aldens quality....l just wanna see what an Alden shoe feels like. Various brands have different feels. l'm really into feel Tony.

l had Florsheim date the shoes for me. They tell me that they could have been made around 1993. l did notice that my fudge welt didn't have the decoration that the older ones used to have.
The 50's Florsheim's used to have hand writing inside the shoos.

l wore them for my first time last night. lt reminded me of why l was glad to move on from those shoos: it was a real rough low end ride.
