inspired by this thread and some sips of real ale i also ordered a pair yesterday! the service on pointerproducts was very friendly: i inquired about the sanders boots yesterday by email, i got a reply within 15 minutes (quite late in the evening)and today, a bloke from there even phoned me a few moments back about my inquiry and order. it's something that has never happened with an internet retailer before.
i'll wait for the pair eagerly.

Good on ya Heikki!
I still haven't heard from Sanders themselves
Oh dear. Does that mean no longer doing internet sales or no longer in business? Hopefully just the former.
got mine (sanders) the other day, today i'm wearing them for the first time. the firsthand experience has been very good so far, despite the fact that they are rather stiff and thus somewhat painful on the ankles but i guess that goes away with some more wear. also, on the contrary to - say - (clarks) dessies they are surprisingly warm, my feet weren't slightest bit cold despite my long-ish lunch walk in -4°c. so, they are great winter wear whenever the weather ain't foul. recommended.
having said this, i'd like to have 'real' playboys as well thought! + a new cola pair of dessies for the spring.
Received mine as well last week, you'll be fine in the ankle department H. Big thanks to Chris _H for the link.

I like those!
The logo is a shame tho'...
Oi Polloi usually stocks a decent selection of rubber soled 'leisure shoes' with suede uppers.
I have an old pair of made in USA Vans Chukkas that go well with my khakis. A bit of California in the mix.
for those of us in the states, rj colt (a brand i know nothing about) is also selling a playboy in some interesting colors...looks really similar to the gbx version.

Not trying to shill for 'em but I've ordered a few pairs of casual shoes from Zappos.com and there customer service is hard to believe. Great return policy. I ordered a pair of Jack Purcell sneakers a few weeks ago at about 10 P.M. and got them the next afternoon FREE shipping. No Alden, of course, but all the usual suspects like Converse, Red Wing, Florsheim, etc. They have the GBX with the crepe sole as well as Clarks Desert boots and Wallabees. Cheap and trustworthy.
