^^^ Mornin' 'Orace -
You never struck me as one such and I do not believe you are.
I've always seen us as more like this:

I like how the most recent contributions to Ivy-style are a direct rip-off of previous posts here. These guys are worst than Will man....
edit: of course the interpretations of the style are weird and unfettered from any type of sound reason or judgment.

Russ ol' Chum --
I'm being serious for a moment and only for a moment -- the coincidences are just too much. Some of them are startlingly specific and others are more general. The specific ones have been copied and all the general themes that weren't so obvious I think, before many of us culled them together, are now group together on this weirdos website. I wouldn't make the accusations if I couldn't back them up. It's bullshit. I should find it amusing, since I have no financial stake in anything, nor do I want it, need it, nor care for it.
^ Really good finds. Thanks.
... Now let's just sit back & wait to be ripped off...

^ Well...
It's an exploitation Blog.
I read his original approach to me as an attempt to exploit me based on my vanity.
Bad call. I'm not vain. Read my stuff and you'll see that I relentlessly stand before you all with drool on my chin.
First thing I did was to tell FNB what CMC was up to and then I told CMC to talk to FNB if he wanted to try to lift the topic of Ivy from its home on FNB to his new proposed blog (And I still have all the emails to back this up).
CMC was very much on his dignity saying that he would no more ask FNB than he would Ask Andy to do what he wanted to do. FNB was very 'thanks for telling me'. I noted the difference in attitude.
And so it moved on and we decided to play with CMC. We didn't like his attitude. We're not for sale.
I launched the site with him and 'promoted' it in a spirit of fun - Who got an email from me asking you to write for the site in return for me PayPal-ing you the price of a beer? Manton & AK certainly spring to mind.
- CMC was in heaven with all my work & the promises I had in the pipeline!
But then I used a real contact via a much valued source and secured access to the Blue Note photographic archives from the great Mr. Michael Cuscuna.
And not knowing who M.C. was CMC turned the deal down...
... So CMC is a Jazz fan who doesn't know who M.C. is? And doesn't understand what being given the keys to the Blue Note photographic archive means?
... And so the joke was all over. The man was just an embarrassment. I couldn't link my name to his when I was talking to people at this level. I was out. I did nothing from then on but pull his nose. And it took him two and a half weeks to notice the fact too.
^ And this is a story I love to tell. I even got a grin out of the great Dean Rudland with it.
But because he's an ego queen CMC's stuck doing the blog now to prove himself.
Moral? Don't try to piss with the big boys. We'll send you home to your Mum soaking.
When he first approached Boyer via The Sartorialist, Boyer mentioned it to a much valued member of our team first too.
Online Ivy is a very small world. You can't bluff it & win. Harris didn't. CMC is now the new Aunt Sally in town: Out for a buck but considered scum by all who count.
Don't blame me - I just enforce the will of the people.

Gotta say this too:
The list of suppliers on the 'Ivy Style' site was complied by Hard Bop Hank and later edited by CMC. HBH was never credited.
The 'Ivy Style' logo was done along with me as was the layout. CMC's previous ideas were pish.
The original pitch was to create 'the best' website on Ivy. That intention changed on day one of the site as CMC wanted to promote RL because he wanted to get more work from them on their blog - I have the emails.
All the guys who wrote for the site under me turned in better work than CMC published - Stand up Patrick, Joe Bondi & Intrepid. CMC edited them like he does everything else into his own unattractive tone of voice. He totally lost the charm of Joe's original piece and turned down Intrepid flat. So that's a newbie who knows more than Bill Stephenson and Joe? Not in my world.
It was fun & an experience & I still use the site as a part of my portfolio when I go charming folk around and about, but it's an iCon as an Ivy site.
I advise you all to take full advantage of the place & use it for what you can get out of the resources that CMC is throwing at it.
I especially want to see BoO rise like a phoenix from the place. I love that Cat.

What do you think - Time Chensvold answered all this?
He didn't used to be so shy about posting here when he was trying to pick our brains for his hackery...
Step up, Chris.
It's all good publicity.

Awwwwwwwwwwww - He's gone all shy!
