Drinkin' and Dronin' recently did the requisite McQueen entry. It includes a lot of the classic shots but is still worth checking out for the decent resolution (and a great pic of a rather cute ladyfriend).

Oh, and I know these are going to be ridiculously over-priced and too of the moment for most, but they look great IMO (and frankly if I worked for a clothing company, I would try to push for re-issuing such a great boot too).

^ So you took the plunge, good on ya J.
I can definitely see the "rough out" leather in that natural colour go well with that coat. I might try this with a pair of Grenson brogues I have, they have a similar colour and that same texture that's coarser than suede.
I've always liked Boondockers, I remember eyeing them as a teen on Amsterdam market stalls selling vintage militaria. Having seen the real thing for grabs makes me less subject to the Japanese packaging and pricing, I guess.
Jesmond. Beautiful boots. Please post more pics when you get them.
I am with you 1966. Logically agree w/ all of your points. I have to admit to being a sucker for packaging at times. The box still appeals to that inner Gundam toy collector that hasn't died.
Of course, all of that is a little trad otaku I guess.

edit.
For those keepin' track, stopped building gundam models years ago. Too busy following blogs (though if I was allowed to make them in class I might pay better attention).

Of wife stealing, I was amused to read in Steve Martin's recent memoirs that John Frankenheimer (of Manchurian Candidate fame) stole at least one girlfriend from Mr. Martin and years later tried to steal Martin's then wife (that time unsuccessfully). Martin describes being not unpleased when Frankenheimer passed away.
Did you see the Kid Stays in the Picture? Evans has arguably dabbled in a little historical revisionism in his favour; I have my doubts that he was always the hard-done-by party.

More McQueen pics. Keep clicking older photos for the rest. This site's got a lot of the great ones, free from annoying Getty images logos. There is a particularly good pic w/ a turtleneck and cords.
