Do shirtmakers give any guide to cotton quality, or is it just luck of the draw these days ?
I used to see 'two fold cotton' on labels but not so much these days. Even then there is a lot more to it, but unless you are getting a shirt made I am not sure how you identify quality.
Harvie and Hudson just says 'cotton'. If you buy three, one of the shirts might be the sort that creases if you look sideways at it, while the others will be fine. I mentioned this before on another forum and was told by a brand loyalist it was all my fault, I was not looking after the shirt properly.
Tommy Hilfiger make some of their range with 80's Two Ply cotton and identify the shirts with a label stating so. Nice shirts in my opinion!
