Re: Me & Hard Bop in the 13/2 NYC FT -

We're in something on style loyalists or brand obsessives or something. H.B.H. & I talk about our J. Press habits, other people talk about luggage & other stuff I think.

It's fun stuff.

... or at least that was the pitch. I can't wait to see the edit of the 40 mins of motor-mouth I supplied the charming Mr. Ellwood with.

Re: Me & Hard Bop in the 13/2 NYC FT -

I'm dying to read it. I really hope that the author didn't turn it all into a Village Green Preservation Society piece

Which, I think I will quote at length:

We are the village green preservation society
God save donald duck, vaudeville and variety
We are the desperate dan appreciation society
God save strawberry jam and all the different varieties
Preserving the old ways from being abused
Protecting the new ways for me and for you
What more can we do
We are the draught beer preservation society
God save mrs. mopp and good old mother riley
We are the custard pie appreciation consortium
God save the george cross and all those who were awarded them
We are the sherlock holmes english speaking vernacular
Help save fu manchu, moriarty and dracula
We are the office block persecution affinity
God save little shops, china cups and virginity
We are the skyscraper condemnation affiliate
God save tudor houses, antique tables and billiards
Preserving the old ways from being abused
Protecting the new ways for me and for you
What more can we do
God save the village green.

Cheers, Jim! Didn't believe it....

Please scan a copy, if you got it!

Re: Me & Hard Bop in the 13/2 NYC FT -

Just seen the article from Tins - Hopefully he'll help me to post it here, if not I'll call on Mr. Jeeves.

It's rather jolly with everybody else leading up to us talking about their brand loyalty to Virgin airways etc., then we come along talking about Press.
I go first and then to my delight not just one other chum follows on but two! I had no idea.
I guess that due to space and other considerations the entirety of my 40 mins chat with Mr. Ellwood couldn't be included this time round. Well, fair enough, but it was fun to do anyway. And sadly all my name checks and links to J. Simons & FNB don't feature as I'd hoped, but then again the thing wasn't really meant to be a free advert for me/us afterall.
Entertainingly Chris_H does feature, but not under his usual name. Due to the edit he is referred to as 'The Holy of Holies'.

And quite right too.

I converted the scans to .jpgs. When I opened it up on my computer, they started small but I was able to scan in and maintain resolution.

Enjoy.

Sorry for earlier mistake, which is now rectified.

I just checked it and it seems to work fine. Thanks Russell_Street for sharing this (and I gather Tintin deserves a thanks too for doing the scanning).

Absolutely - My thanks to you and to Tintin here.

It's not really that much after all, but it did get in the paper.

Nonsense, any mention is a leg up for the true faith.

Re: Me & Hard Bop in the 13/2 NYC FT -

... I'm just thinking about the language here:  "Precision", "The ardour of a fine wine collector", and also "casualness".

I think Mr. Ellwood caught our style over here very well from those few telephone chats he had with us all. And that's the thing with the real McCoy - We shine through.

Next time round I want him to talk to more of us - To Chris_H, to 'Orace & Matt & Jesmond & 1966 & D&F & Moose &, &, & &, & -

All so different, but all so motivated and so sincere.

I can't help feeling that the truth has set us free.

Gawd bless FNB!
