Used to see Mr. Amies wearing Green tweed in town a lot. Why not?

Thta's good stuff. I enjoyed his book as well. He is a better writer than one wouldve believed.

I agree. Great book, a little gem. I paid over a hundred bucks for a very nice used copy. Well worth it, but you're right: it needs to be reprinted.

Sir Hardy Amies always reminded me of his dandy contemporary, Sir Cecil Beaton.

Re: Hardy Amies: The Englishman's Suit

There are a few concerns who seek out noteworthy books worthy of reprinting in limited runs.
I was involved with one at one time, am responsible for bringing back such classics as CARE AND OPERATION OF SLEDS AND DOGS FOR ARCTIC TRANSPORT, US ARMY 1909 and Adolph Murie's pioneering study of Coyotes.

I'll look into this. It will keep me off the streets, if nothing else.

emailed the UK publishers. If we can generate enough email traffic to show interest they might reprint.

Re: Hardy Amies: The Englishman's Suit

Publishers just emailed. They have no plans to reprint.

I inquired as to copyright holder.

GOOD NEWS! A followup communicae from the publishers just arrived.

The dispatch rider needed refreshment and his horse cooled: but opening the wax seal

I read of continued interest and a trade paperback may be in the works.

Thumbs nose @ Malinda who thinks I just write and don't do anything.

Re: Hardy Amies: The Englishman's Suit

Perhaps when the paperback becomes available we can have a review and discussion?
