Okay. So I am one of the five.  Oddly enough  I watched the new DVD transfer of Four Flies on Grey Velvet last night. It is interesting to note that no matter what Argento wears he can not draw attention away from his frightening countenance. I mean that as high praise, of course.

Yeah that's  a mystery in itself. I tried to show a picture of her to my wife and ran into the same "trouble" finding a chaste one. She is a talented actress and director in her own right, and certainly has some more immediate qualities as well.

The associations with 'chav' in England have struck deep roots.  What was once very cool has now become unspeakable, doubtless due to the greed of the company itself.  'Old school' featured in my wardrobe until a couple of years ago, and I think John Simons still sells very subtle jumpers (no logo!), but an English made old school polo shirt might go better in the US now than in England if the preppy/'Love Story' connection remains valid.  Maybe, though, as with Burberrys', UK Ivy chaps will seek to snatch back the brand from the scutters...

My thing is purely the quality of the English fabric compared to the stuff I've seen from Italy or Peru.  I haven't surveyed the whole scene and am not an authority but the English stuff I've seen is by far superior to the Italian stuff.  This sort of surprised me.  But sort of didn't.

I looked at a lot of stuff when I was in Paris last and still kept coming back to the really good English fabric which I take it is rather rare now?

There's a place in the US that still offers it:  Grass Court.  They've got a English pique with the shirt made up in USA.  I like it a lot.
